Thank you all for participating in our Sonic the Hedgehog x Hive collaboration! The event is now ending, and we're down for maintenance.

Any cosmetics you unlocked through either the Ring Shop or participating in games and the live event will remain permanently.

We hope you enjoyed the event!

Sonic Event Delay

Due to unforeseen technical difficulties we've had to make the difficult decision to delay the Sonic Live Event until Saturday, July 24th.

Sonic Hub Update: More Rings!

Need some more rings to get those fancy Ring Shop unlocks? We've got good news for you!

  • Added Ring Trees (3D) that give rings when punched
  • Added (hidden) Ring Boxes that grant 25 rings when interacted with
  • Added Motobugs and Buzz Bombers to certain courses

Asia Region Capacity

We are seeing record-high demand for our Asia region, which is resulting in a suboptimal experience for players in that region. We will be adding significant capacity in the upcoming days to ensure a smooth Sonic experience.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Maintenance

The Hive will go down for Sonic the Hedgehog maintenance at:

Monday, July 12th 12PM UTC

We expect to go live with the Sonic experience at 2PM UTC, but this time may be adjusted for technical reasons.

Six party games, over 20 FREE themed Ring Shop-cosmetics, one free global skinpack, and a weekend surprise; this is going to be an event to remember.

Recent Replays Command

This update is freshly rolling out, not all IDs may appear just yet.

Using Replay IDs to report players helps our moderation team to ban more cheaters, quicker. Today we're making it easier for you to obtain your replay IDs.

Recent Replays Command

The /recentreplays command shows you up to 10 recent replay IDs, including the game, map and relative time of the match. Forgot to grab last games ID? No worries, find it in the Recent Replays modal.

Replay ID In End-Game

The /replay command now also works in end-game (podium phase).

Block Drop Balance Update

A Block Drop update is now rolling out to all regions, focusing on speeding up the game, reducing camping, and balancing XP.

Gameplay

  • Added a new anti-camping system. Standing on the same block will cause the block to break faster.
  • Increased the rate that the top layer is removed.
  • All but the final layer will now be removed automatically.

Developer note: We understand these changes change the current meta. However, the main feedback we have been receiving is how slow-paced the games can be. Block Drop is meant to be a fast-paced parkour game, so we're hoping this change will make the game more fun.

  • Added new XP reward for every 150 blocks broken/stepped on.
  • Increased XP given when another player dies (survival bonus) from 3 to 5.
  • Increased XP from collecting a powerup from 2 to 10.

Developer note: Gaining XP has been much slower than anticipated. We hope this will balance the game and make it easier to progress through levels.

  • Added a message telling the victim who hit them with a knockback nemo, so they can plan revenge.

Custom Servers

  • Added toggle to enable/disable anti-camping functionality.
