Survival Games Update

Survival Games is officially out of beta!

Over the last week, we have been previewing our new Survival Games update and tweaking the game based on community feedback.

We are now happy that the update is balanced, and have rolled out the changes to the Survival Games modes.

We have also released the first of two new maps, Mobius! We will be releasing the second new map next week.

Thank you to everybody who has given us feedback regarding the update. As always, we are still open to suggestions and will continue to tweak the game based on feedback. If you have any suggestions, please be sure to post them on our forums.

Murdery Mystery Game Update

It's time for a Murdery Mystery game update!

New maps

  • Witch School
  • Eso Hotel

AFK Prevention

To prevent players farming XP by being AFK, you will now be removed from the game if you don't participate.

Innocent Detector

To help Murderers find hiding Innocents, the Innocent Detector will help them find remaining Innocents in the last minute of the game.

Treasure Wars Gameplay Update

It's time for a BIG Treasure Wars update! As some of you may have seen, we've been running a preview of the update for the past week. Thank you to anyone who gave feedback as it helped shape this update.

So, what's in this newest update?

New Features

4 New Maps

  • Summer Coast for Trios and Squads

Boomboxes

We've long heard feedback that you wanted more ways to play Treasure Wars, with one of the highest-rated suggestions being TNT. Today we're adding Boomboxes to the game.

  • Added "Knockback Boombox" at 4 diamonds each
  • Added "Block Breaker Boombox" at 5 emeralds each
  • Added "Blast-proof Glass" at 2 emeralds for 16 pieces

Balance Changes

Armor

Diamond armor was widely considered too powerful, whist iron armor was considered too expensive and offered only a small amount of defense more than chainmail. We've tried to bridge the gap between the armors to make the game feel more balanced.

  • Reduced "Iron Armor Set" from 32 to 12 diamonds
  • Added protection 1 to the iron chestplate, making the set an exact middle ground between chainmail and diamond
  • Increased "Diamond Armor Set" from 20 to 28 emeralds

Bows

  • Close range arrow shots now deal less damage, to discourage bow spam
  • Increased bow from 2 to 5 diamonds each

Other Balance Changes

  • Doubled the stock of golden apples per game
  • Changed golden apples to 5 diamonds each

Game Changes

General Changes

  • Implemented new victory screen
  • Armor items now only equip on purchase if they are of equal or greater defense value
  • Final kills now grant double XP
  • Added support for avatars on endgame podiums

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause too much currency being taken when purchasing items
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in bridge builders having broken necks
  • Fixed logic order that would result in the game over message showing before the final kill had full processed
  • Corrected a typo when purchasing items from the store

SkyWars: Death Crates

A new version of SkyWars is currently being deployed.

Death Crates

Death Crates will now spawn when a player is killed, instead of dropping their items on the ground. This makes it easier for you to get the items you want, without having to sift through them all individually.

If you prefer to pick up all the items, simply punch the crate and it will drop its contents.

  • Temple for SkyWars Trios and Squads

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a few typos
  • Other various fixes and performance improvements

DeathRun Content Update

It's time for another content update, this time for DeathRun! This update comes with lots of bug fixes, new unlocks, new features and a brand new map!

Gameplay

20 New Levels

We've increased the level cap from 20 to 40.

  • New unlock category: Leap Effects
  • 5 new death markers
  • 4 new capes
  • 2 new death skins
  • 3 new avatars
  • 1 new costume
  • 5 new hub titles

Player Visibility Toggling

You can now toggle the visibility of the other runners in your game.

  • Visible: Normal players
  • Small: Players are shrunk and their names are hidden
  • Hidden: No other players are visible

First Come, First Serve Traps

The first death to enter a trap will have priority over it, other deaths will no longer be able to activate the trap until the first death has left the activation region.

Lobby Parkour

The temple in the lobby has mysteriously opened up, revealing a brand new lobby parkour! 

Pinned Maps

We're trialing a new feature where recently published maps will be pinned to the top of the voting menu for 2 weeks.

Bug Fixes

Ew bugs! We're always looking out for bugs and will regularly update games outside of content updates to fix them. Some of the bugs fixed in this update include:

  • Terminal fire trap had incorrect messaging
  • Western wall spawn traps did not give correct kill credit
  • Viaduct trap teleport locations sometimes faced the wrong way
  • Gardens fire arrows did not give correct kill credit
  • Fire damage can kill a player after dying
  • Viaduct checkpoint faces the wrong direction

Easter Update: Egg Hunt and Ground Wars game

Merry Eggmas! Grab a free costume by finishing the Egg Hunt, and battle for map control on Ground Wars.

Egg Hunt

Find all 12 eggs and obtain the free (2020 Easter Exclusive) costume!

Ground Wars

Snow Wars is back! However, the snow is gone, so we borrowed some eggs from the Easter Bunny. There's also 3 brand new maps to play on!

Fight for control over the map by gaining territory with each egg 'kill'. Protect yourself and your teammates by building defensive structures. Take control over the whole map to win!

Ground Wars is a limited time mode - however, we expect it to stick around until at least the end of the Summer. We'll evaluate this over time based on it's player count.

Just Build: more voting options & in-game reporting

This update is currently only available on our EUROPE and North America regions.

We've added two much requested features to Just Build!

NEW VOTE OPTIONS: Two new vote options are now available: "Okay" and "Great"

IN-GAME REPORTING: Whether inappropriate or off-topic, you can now report builds that don't follow the rules or theme.

We will closely monitor the reporting feature to make sure it achieves it goals without any side effects.

NEW Game: Just Build

Show off your building skills in our brand new minigame: Just Build!

Available in both solos and duos variants, Just Build is a Build-Battle style minigame. When the game starts, a theme will be picked. You have 5 minutes to build your best interpretation of this theme, after which the voting phase starts. Pick from 'Meh', 'Good' or 'Love' for each competing build. The team that receives the best ratings wins!
