Murder Mystery: Deadly Dealings Patch 2

An update for Murder Mystery is deploying to all regions. This second balancing patch includes various bug fixes and balancing changes based on community feedback.

New Feature: Map XP Boost

We’re trialling a new feature in Murder Mystery that chooses one random map per lobby to have a 10% XP boost. Look for the “10% XP Boost” tag on the map when using the map selector.

We’re hoping this feature encourages players to play a more diverse set of maps. If this trial is successful, we shall deploy this to further games.

Balancing Changes

Bux

  • Slightly decreased the Bux spawn rate

  • Unused Bux store items now refund 50% of their purchase cost on game end

Flash Camera

  • Increased the price (4 → 6 Bux)

  • Added a 10-second cooldown between uses

  • Added a player setting to decrease the brightness of the camera’s flash

Player Sonar

  • Can now be used up to 3 times, with a 3-second cooldown between uses

Challenges

  • Vaulted the ‘Floodgates’ and ‘Lights Out’ daily challenges

  • Modified the ‘Sole Survivor’ challenge to not require you to win the game, and improved the challenge’s description

  • Modified the ‘Frequent Flyer’ challenge to count the use of unique teleporters in each game (instead of just one)

  • Modified the ‘Pandora’s Box’ daily challenge to only require 1 chest/rune box opening

Other Changes

  • Decreased the price of the picnic consumables on Sunny Acres (10 → 5 coins)

  • Changed the colour of the magnifying glass item when held to silver, to match the dropped item

  • Added a chat notification when picking up the magnifying glass, explaining how it can be used

  • Re-enabled the Wildflower Murder Mystery cosmetic pack

  • Introduced a new custom server option to enable/disable specific Bux Store items

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from being eliminated after using a Knockback Nemo to eliminate another Innocent player from the game

  • Fixed a bug that caused progress for the ‘Sole Survivor’ challenge to not be counted, despite the criteria being met

  • Fixed a bug where players with a custom zapper equipped would be given a second zapper if they picked up the Sheriff’s magnifying glass

  • Fixed a bug that caused the player’s prestige icon to not be visible on the level indicator in game lobbies

  • Fixed a bug where spectators could be stunned by the Flash Camera

  • Fixed a bug that prevented progress from being awarded for the ‘Here To Stay’ daily challenge if a game lasted for less than a minute
