Hide and Seek: Mischief Update - Patch 1

An update for Hide and Seek is deploying to all regions. This balancing patch includes various bug fixes and balancing changes.

Balancing Changes

Nearby Seeker XP

  • Increased the radius for which XP is awarded

  • Increased the rate at which XP is awarded

  • Increased the amount of XP awarded when a seeker is very close (1XP → 2XP)

Change Block Taunt

  • The Change Block taunt now appears only once, at taunt level 10

  • Increased Change Block taunt XP (15XP → 20XP)

  • The Change Block taunt now only changes you into selectable map blocks, not special blocks

Energy Zapper Taunt

  • Increased the Energy Zapper’s area of effect and improved particles/messaging

Other Changes

  • Reduced ‘Adrenaline Rush’ speed boost (Speed 2 → Speed 1)

  • Added a description to the Choose Block menu showing the name of the map

  • Once you reach level 10, a random selection of taunts will be chosen, instead of repeating the last taunt

  • All taunts have had their active runtimes shortened, so it takes less time to complete a taunt

    • Previously, you’d have to wait 1 second (or longer) after a taunt finishes to get the XP. This has been reduced to 0.5 seconds for all taunts, and significantly reduced for emote and sound taunts.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where seekers who hadn’t spawned in could give nearby seeker XP

  • Fixed a bug which caused the special block unlock category to be visible when viewing the locker in the microhub

  • Fixed a bug where progress for the ‘Caught Red Handed’ and ‘Glow Up’ challenges wasn’t counted

  • Fixed a bug that caused the taunt cooldown timer in the UI to not match chat notifications

  • Fixed a bug where certain kill sounds played at the wrong location

  • Fixed a bug where some taunt sounds played at the wrong location
