BedWars: Season 1 Update
This is the technical changelog for the launch of BedWars Season 1 which was deployed to all regions today. For a full overview, check out our news post!
Seasons
- Added BedWars Season 1 challenges
- Enabled challenge board
- Enabled challenge merchant
- Enabled seasonal leaderboards
Developer note: We have more seasonal challenges, as well as daily challenges on the way. Right now we're focusing on monitoring the data to ensure the extra challenges are balanced and fair.
General Changes
- Increased max level to 50
- Enabled modern map voting UI
- Added BedWars bundle
- Increased game time limit to 25 minutes
- Turrets now show a health bar when damaged
- Turrets are now damageable with arrows
- Turrets can now be picked up by the player who placed them, as long as they are undamaged
- Added icons to the team upgrade bench UI
New Items
- Added Bridge Placer item
Developer note: We hope you enjoy the new version of "Bridge Builders", the "Bridge Placer". In our testing, this felt much more fluid and intuitive to use. Also, do not fear, we are actively working on bringing boomboxes back to BedWars!
XP Changes
- Increased final kill XP to 15, from 10
- Increased bed destroy XP to 15, from 10
- Increased victory XP to 40, from 30
Economy Changes
- Diamond Armor has been changed to use multiple currencies, now requiring 4 emeralds and 32 diamonds to purchase
- Reduced the cost of Golden Apples to 20 gold, from 30
Developer note: We'll have more balance changes coming soon! We'll be tweaking the economy often, especially after adding new items.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the knockback from turrets was based on the position of the player who placed it
- Fixed a bug preventing spectators from getting the "report player" item
- Fixed a bug where non-custom games starting with 1 team would not end until the time limit was reached
- Fixed various replay bugs (more on the way!)
