Hey all!

It's a very busy Saturday night on The Hive - we currently have well over 17 thousand players online across all regions.

Because of this, we have to redirect some EU players to our NA region. We have unlimited player slots on NA, whilst EU caps out eventually. We're working on making EU unlimited as well, so we can prevent this in the future!

We have double XP enabled across the whole network for the next hour, enjoy!

As it's been a while since our Survival Games and Treasure Wars: Mega game releases, we're going back to our regular server list icon. We usually try to time icon changes with content updates - this is not the case this time.

We're working on a wide range of content, some of which we previously announced, some of it we're keeping a secret for now.

• A brand new game is in the works, this will NOT be a PVP game.
• The quest master is almost back from his holiday, and is getting ready to start his job.
• Swarms (a type of guild/clan system) are being tested and polished up

We appreciate your patience as we expand our team so we can bring you more updates, faster than ever. This has been an amazing summer for The Hive, and we're proud to have served over 4 million players in July.

We have finished the maintenance. We believe we have resolved the cause of the recent issues, but will continue to monitor.

We appreciate your patience as we dealt with this downtime.

UPDATE: A hotfix has been deployed to address this issue. We're continuing to monitor the network.

We're aware of decreased performance on our North America region. This is caused by a recent regression and is not related to the CCU of the region.

We will post more updates as we work on reverting to the version before these issues.

As a reminder, all leaderboards reset on the first day of the month, UTC time.

This is the first of more upcoming updates for Survival Games. So far we've had some excellent feedback, and we've tried to take a lot of it on board in this first patch. We'll be monitoring feedback and making further changes to loot and balancing where needed.

New Map: Northwood

Loot

• Bows are now slightly rarer
• Arrows are now slightly rarer
• Diamond Swords are very rare in Tier 2 chests
• Added Snowballs and Ender Pearls to some loot sets (could be revoked)
• Removed junk

Gameplay

• Added clear "no-teaming" message to game start
• Arrows shot at melee distance (less than 5 blocks) deal half damage
• While falling, supply drops strike silent lightning to their landing zone
• District names now show below player names in duos

Bugs

• Fixed an issue where games may not end when a player leaves during deathmatch warmup
• Fixed an issue where players could shoot bows during deathmatch warmup
• Fixed the arrow trails, all particles now render correctly
