Welcome to our updates website! Come back regularly to find the latest Hive updates.
We have finished the infrastructure testing as mentioned in our initial announcement. As such, we will be retiring the Australia testing region this coming Monday, March 29th, near the end of the (Oceanic) day.
We appreciate the interest in the Australia region. However, we currently have no plans to permanently establish an Australia region. If this changes, we will post a future update.
Spring has arrived on The Hive!
New Hub
The hub is in full bloom! As well as the hub being covered in colorful fauna, some of the characters and models that you know and love have also been given a new lease of life, be sure to look out for them!
Rumour has it there's even a new parkour run to try out and a new hub title for those that manage to complete it!
Spring Maps
This update sees the return of many seasonal maps, as well as the addition of some new ones! Be sure to check out the newly decorated game lobbies as well.
Survival Games Map
We've released the second of two new maps as part of our Survival Games update - Blossom! This map is a permanent addition to Survival Games and will be sticking around after Spring.
Players in the Asia-Pacific region (East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania) may see some of their traffic redirected to Australia this coming week.
We are using this testing region to test and improve automated scaling and stability systems.
We've added 30 new levels to Hide and Seek, bringing the total level count to 50. Additionally, there are some minor game changes.
We hope you enjoy this mini content update! Let us know your favorite unlocks!
This is our third small change roundup, where we feature changes not covered in individual update posts. Our main focus recently has been large game updates, replays, and new games, but there are still a bunch of new fixes, changes and features!

Bug Fixes
We have identified the root cause for the "Steve Glitch", which causes all entities to appear as Steve models.
We are rolling out fixes for this today.
We've added 25 new levels to Treasure Wars, bringing the total level count to 100. Additionally, there's a brand new MEGA map: Plaza.
We hope you enjoy this mini content update! Hide and Seek will be the next game to get more levels and unlocks.
Survival Games is officially out of beta!
Over the last week, we have been previewing our new Survival Games update and tweaking the game based on community feedback.
We are now happy that the update is balanced, and have rolled out the changes to the Survival Games modes.
We have also released the first of two new maps, Mobius! We will be releasing the second new map next week.
Thank you to everybody who has given us feedback regarding the update. As always, we are still open to suggestions and will continue to tweak the game based on feedback. If you have any suggestions, please be sure to post them on our forums.
You can view the full changelog here, and the balancing changes we have already made here.
We will soon be reverting the change that removed 1.16.40 support from The Hive.
To bring you the best possible experience, we use modern features that require recent client versions. Only supporting the most recent client allows us to keep our server light and easily maintainable, which results in a better experience (less lag, so to say).
However, it is clear that updates 1.16.100 and 1.16.200 have multiple issues that prevent a portion of our players from enjoying Minecraft. We suggest that players affected by issues in these versions communicate these issues to Mojang, who are able to resolve them. Good ways of doing this is reporting and upvoting bugs on MoJira and leaving feedback on the Minecraft feedback website. The Hive always advocates for the best experience for our players, but it's important you make your voice heard to Mojang directly.
We must note that this is a temporary extension to the 1.16.40 support. Future Minecraft versions will introduce complex changes that will render 1.16.40 support unmaintainable.
The Survival Games update uses features only available in 1.16.100 and up and will not be playable by those on 1.16.40.
