A new version of Just Build is deploying to all regions. This update adds support for some of our custom blocks.

Additional blocks will be automatically available on March 3rd, and March 10th at 5PM UTC.

Custom blocks available today:

• A selection of colored roof tiles
• Dark terracotta brick, brick skirting, cobble, and pillar
• Orange terracotta brick, brick skirting, cobble, and pillar
• Terracotta brick, brick skirting, cobble, and pillar
• Sandstone pillar
• Stone brick tiles, skirting, and pillar
• Andesite bricks, herringbone bricks, and pillar
• Granite bricks, small bricks, and pillar
• Smooth stone pillar

Next week will see a selection of new wood blocks, and the week after will introduce a range of custom flowers/plants (in a wide range of unique colors).

We hope to add more and more custom blocks over time, allowing you to continue making beautiful builds.

With Login Streak Savers, available on all regions starting today, we're making login streaks a bit more lenient for those with long(er) streaks. Over time, we've received a lot of feedback and support requests from those that lost their streaks due to outside factors: power and internet cuts, holidays, or simply mistiming or forgetting once.

For every 100 days, you will now receive one Streak Saver. Streak Savers stack infinitely: if you manage to get up to a 1000 days, you'll have 10 Savers. For those with an existing streak over 100 days, we'll give you the correct amount of Savers you would have earned with the new system.

If you were to lose your streak, but have a Saver available, this Saver will automatically be consumed and your streak will be saved. The maximum amount of days between your last login, and the one where you save your streak, may not exceed 7 days. In the case it's been 7 or more days, you will lose your streak as you would have on the old system.

We've added new messaging informing you about Savers. On your first post-maintenance login, we'll inform you if, and how many, Savers you were granted. Every 100 days, you'll receive a message informing you that you gained a Saver. Similarly, you'll receive messages for a Saver being used, or in the 7+ day case, that you lost your streak despite having a Saver available. 

You can get all your login streak information using the /loginstreak command, which now includes your Saver balance.

Streak Savers are completely free and automatic, and are available to all players irregardless of rank.

We are experiencing a (likely game-sided) bug in the latest Minecraft update, which prevents us from switching skins during gameplay. This affects switching costumes and certain games such as DeathRun and Hide and Seek. This only affects your own player skin - you can see other players including NPCs with no issues.

For those updated to the new version, we suggest you leave and rejoin the server after selecting a costume.

As this is a not a major game update, and your platform allows you to, you can avoid installing the update until this issue is resolved. We will release a new update post once this is resolved.

UPDATE:  This issue is fully resolved. The below information no longer applies.

Minecraft is currently experiencing a severe authentication incident. Due to this incident, you may receive an incorrect profile (belonging to someone else) when you join a Minecraft server.

Most of the time, leaving and rejoining the server will resolve this issue. You can verify your identity by opening the Pause menu and checking your username in the top right of the player list.

We have provided a list of frequently asked questions below. When we use the word "profile", we mean an in-game identity: you can simply think of this as your username and it's associated data such as statistics, friends, unlocks et cetera.

Has The Hive been hacked?

No. This incident is on the Minecraft (Mojang/Microsoft) side, in their authentication system. As we receive a completely valid login, we can't automatically detect this issue. It's up to Mojang/Microsoft to resolve this issue. This issue occurs on all servers.

Have I been hacked?

No. This issue is unrelated to your personal actions and can occur to any Minecraft player right now.

Will I keep my items / statistics / friends?

Yes. Once you are able to join with the correct profile, you will still have all your data.

When will this be resolved?

We, and the other Featured Servers, have immediately reported this and we have been assured it is being looked into. We have no further information to share at this time.

When I join, I get a ban notification. Am I banned?

If you haven't broken any rules, you are unlikely to be banned. Because of this issue, you may receive the profile of a banned player. Please try rejoining and/or restarting your game.

What if someone receives my profile and breaks rules on it?

If this occurs, we will be able to see that someone accessed your account and our support team will be happy to assist you. Whilst this issue is ongoing, we ask for your patience as we are dealing with a high amount of support requests.

Earlier this year, we started moving more games to resource-pack-driven cosmetics to improve performance for players.

Today we are releasing an update to Block Drop. As part of this update, we have replaced the older, extruded pixel-art powerup models with new, more detailed models. Additionally, this update supports the Winterfest "Present Powerup" daily gift.

Updates

• Cosmetics are now resource-pack-driven, resulting in less client overhead.

New Cosmetics

• Lucky Block (Replaces Star - Level 1)
• Potion (Upgraded Model - Level 2)
• Royal Crown (Replaces Flower - Level 9)
• Chest (Upgraded Model - Level 16)
• Dragon Egg (Replaces Lightning - Level 22)
• Speedster Costume (Replaces Runner - Level 25)

Players that have already reached the required level for these unlocks will need to play a game of Block Drop to be granted them.

Developer Note: We wouldn't typically release an update like this during the holiday period, but due to the daily gift requiring this new game version, we have released it. These new powerup models are much more in-line with our other visuals and are an excellent visual improvement to the game.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of these types of changes that have been released in the last ~2-3 weeks. This list does not cover new features that received their own post, such as Winterfest 2022.

Highlighted feature: /language command

You can now change your Hive language setting using the new /language command. Your default language is still determined by the Minecraft in-game language setting, but you can override it by using this command. Your selection is saved, so you don't have to reapply it each time. Most games and hubs support live updating of your language: you won't have to change servers for it to apply.

Additionally to running the command and using the menu, the command also supports language "short names" such as de for German and ja for Japanese for even quicker switching.

Social:

• Added Mailbot messages informing players of their reward availability when they start and stop boosting the Discord server.
• Player names in friend request menus are now color coded according to rank.

Hub:

• Added holograms to Gift Sorting WinterFest microgame to improve accessibility
• Made mounts immune to fire
• Re-added WinterFest snowball hit effects from last year
• Fixed an issue where Quest Store models would turn into Steve models after interacting with the quest master

Arcade:

• The /quest command now functions the same in hubs and arcade hubs.
• Prevented players from cheating on Arcade parkour courses by riding other players' mounts
• Fixed hub games breaking when joining them while riding a mount or an elevator

Murder Mystery:

• Fixed a cause of "nethering" when the graveyard teleport overlapped with a back-to-hub action
